At the Young Audiences Music Awards (YAMawards) ceremony in Santiago de Compostella 17th October, our staged concert production 'Shadow Music' (Skyggespill) was chosen as the winner of the YAMawards in the category 'Best Large Ensemble' and 'Best Production of the Year'.
Shadow Music is a co-production between the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, the dutch music theatre producer Oorkaan and Kulturtanken. It was made under the theatrical direction of Dagmar Slagmolen and musical direction of the orchestra's artistic leader, Terje Tønnesen.

Shadow Music receives YAMawards 2018
The starting point of Shadow Music is the famous Neo classical piece 'Verklärte Nacht' by Arnold Schoenberg. In this staged concert without words, the music is made accessible for young ears in a visual and poetic way. Shadow Music is performed by the musicians of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, who create the story while playing this demanding piece by heart. It premiered in Oslo on 20 October 2017, and will be taken on tour in early 2019.
