A Morning with Solveig Slettahjell
When one of Norway’s most distinctive jazz voices, Solveig Slettahjell, takes the stage with pianist Andreas Ulvo, violinist Sara Övinge, and cellist Ole Eirik Ree, a sense of calm settles over the hall at Sentralen. Her voice is gentle, yet her words resonate deeply. For more than twenty years, she has woven jazz, folk, and pop into a sound that is uniquely her own – always heartfelt, always present.
The program is as varied as the atmosphere is warm: Swedish ballads, music by Grieg and Prøysen, two brand-new songs by Solveig herself, and poetry by Åsmund Olavson Vinje, Kaj Munk, and Olaf Bull – and more. It all comes together in a close and attentive musical dialogue between four artists who truly listen to one another.
Take a break, exhale, and let the music set the rhythm for the rest of your day. Coffee and pastries are included with your ticket – find your seat, lower your shoulders, and simply enjoy.
Welcome.
