Symphony No. 60 in C-major, 'Il Distratto', Hob 1:60
For Borrani's second visit with us as artistic director, it is none other than Joseph Haydn's music to which she invites us in. Together with our cellist Louisa Tuck and win players from her own ensemble Spira Mirabilis, she presents Haydn's exuberant Sinfonia Concertante and SymphonyNo. 60 'Il Distratto', a witty six-movement work compiled from incidental music for a play, Der Zerstreute.
Lorenza Borrani is committed to getting to the heart of the music she performs and delves deep in her exploration. She demands the same commitment from her fellow musicians. Known for her collaborative approach, she invites them to bring their thoughts on the table in making artistic decisions, always willing to be convinced otherwise. This is perhaps what makes her so unique and well-respected by her peers. A relationship that ultimately benefits both the music and the audience.
